2013 Boeing 787 Dreamliner Recall

Boeing has announced that they are recalling all of their 50 manufactured 787 Dreamliner Aircraft due to a faulty Lithium Ion Battery.   Boeing stated that a series of short circuits inside the batteries cause them to overheat, spew out molten electrolytes and possibly cause a fire.  Despite establishing the cause of the fire, they still have to figure out why these events occurred.  Over 1900 flights have already been rescheduled.   All 50 787s that Boeing has delivered to airlines’ fleets have been grounded, and the manufacturer has halted deliveries of new planes until it can address the electrical problems.
